ALBORZ Province is 31st provinces of Iran, centered in Karaj. Alborz Province was formed by division of Tehran Province into two provinces, after the Parliamentary approval on June 23, 2010.
Situating in northwest of Tehran, it has 4 counties, Karaj, Savojbolagh, Taleghan and Nazarabad. Karaj as it's seat, is situated 20 km west of Tehran, at the foothills of the Alborz mountains, being the fifth largest city, with the population of 1,377,450  after Tehran, Mashhad, Isfahan and Tabriz.
